What does REecoTrans acutally mean?

REecoTrans - Research and Education on Eco-Friendly Transport

The cooperation between the Logistikum Steyr and the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna should ensure an integration of the topic of sustainable transport into logistics education and further training in order to raise awareness for sustainable transport.

The increasing volume of transport in Europe is pushing the transport infrastructure to its limits. In combination with increasing individual traffic, this bottleneck is particularly evident in road transport: congestion is the result. Nevertheless, trucks continue to be used for most goods transports. REecoTrans is intended to provide interested people with knowledge about the use and combination of the various environmentally friendly modes of transport with the help of didactically valuable teaching materials.

Objectives in line with EU and Austrian transport policy

The volume of traffic is increasing, which is why the use of environmentally friendly means of transport is absolutely necessary. The anchoring of environmentally friendly modes of transport such as inland waterways or trains in training and further education is in line with the transport and regional policy objectives of Austria and the EU.
